Puerto Rico:The Board Game
So I was searching on Wikipedia today for an entry on Arecibo, the town that I am from in Puerto Rico, and I came across a disambiguating link. Apparently there are two entries in Wikipedia for Puerto Rico; one is the island and the other one is the new German board game by the same name.
The skills required to play the game are of economic management and strategic thought so that you can grow crops and ship it to the 'old world' or exchange for money to buy buildings to grow even more crops. One takes the role of a colonial governor during the 'age of Caribbean ascendancy' as the site states. Seems to me a bit outdated, no? Or very similar to Monopoly.
I found it kind of funny and at first I thought it was a misspelling, but it's not. I suppose the funnier thing would be if everyone else has heard of this game except for me. Leave me a comment or email if you have before. I would like to know if it is as interesting as Amazon customers say it is.

OMG, this is just SO German. Ugh. Aren't there still sanctions in place from the last world war? aren't they supposed to avoid even contemplating being "colonial governors"? Maybe they just couldn't get foreign distributors for "Genocide, The Board Game" eeek
Open-mindedness is a myth.
I couldn't agree with you more.
Actually I find that rather fascinating. Bizarre, but still fascinating.
